Accountability for Progress
Our leaders are accountable for evidencing that learners with SEND make meaningful progress across the curriculum, with outcomes that reflect both academic achievement and personal development from their starting points.
- Our progress for learners with SEND across year groups in a wide range of subjects is consistently strong and work scrutiny indicates that they achieve well.
- We evaluate progress made by learners with SEND each term. The assessment lead works in close collaboration with the SENCo and curriculum leaders to set ambitious targets based on the individual learner’s starting point.
- Teachers are trained in the use of finely graded assessment tools to track progress for pupils with significant learning and cognition needs, particularly where mainstream assessment systems are not appropriate or accurate.
