High Aspirations
Our leaders create a culture of high aspiration for pupils with SEND.
Our senior leaders prioritise high-quality teaching for all pupils and routinely audit staff skills and knowledge to celebrate good practice and identify areas for development.
We carefully consider our staff deployment to support pupils with SEND. Our leaders invest in developing the skills and roles of both teachers and teaching assistants (TAs).
All pupils are given the opportunity to study the full curriculum. Where pupils are withdrawn from subjects, numbers are extremely low and each decision is supported by a clear, individual rationale.
All staff understand the value of neuro-affirming language and consistently avoid phrases that limit pupils’ potential.
We monitor outcomes from personalised and targeted interventions regularly to ensure effectiveness and impact.
We engage with external SEND professionals to support projects that make mainstream education more inclusive and effective.
Our strategies to improve attendance and behaviour are inclusive taking into account the specific needs of vulnerable groups and pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
