Gross motor difficulties
Assessment, adaptations and intervention.
Use a developmental checklist to identify areas needing support. Follow up with:
Targeted adaptations and goals (e.g. throwing, hopping) to build coordination.
Gross motor activities (e.g. catching a ball) to strengthen large muscle groups
Ask learners about their physical and sensory needs to guide personalised adaptations and improve engagement.
Use appropriately sized tables and chairs so learners can sit with feet flat on the floor, promoting stability and posture.
Provide supports like Enbobs, wall backing, or height-adjustable desks to improve comfort and reduce strain during tasks.
