Adaptations & effective instruction.

  • Use the print size recommended by the VI team to ensure readability and reduce eye strain.

  • Adapt all printed materials to preferred size on A4 paper. Maintains consistency and supports independent access.

  • Provide electronic access via iPad or EasyReader app. To enables adjustable text size and screen contrast for better visibility.

  • Offer audio versions of texts on iPad or laptop. This supports comprehension and reduces reliance on visual reading.

  • Ensure assessments and exams are in large print. This promotes fair access and reduces barriers during formal testing.

  • Supply a reading stand as advised by the VI team. This encourages a comfortable posture and optimal reading angle.

  • Encourage use of prescribed low vision aids to enhance access to printed materials through magnification.

  • Allow rest breaks during reading tasks to manage visual fatigue.

  • Provide a personal copy of texts for pre-reading to builds familiarity and support preparation.

  • Use the School Library Service for large print books to expand access to age-appropriate reading materials.
