Targeted Intervention

Small group and 1 to 1 intervention are appropriate and high quality. Teachers understand how gains will be capitalised on during whole class teaching

  • Our setting uses evidence-based interventions to complement high-quality small group and 1:1 instruction.

  • Staff are well-trained in line with EEF guidance and use strategies tailored to individual pupil needs.

  • Positive relationships are built with pupils to support engagement and progress.

  • Teachers and TAs meet regularly to align interventions with classroom learning and ensure continuity.

  • Intervention outcomes are shared and integrated into whole class teaching to support consolidation and generalisation.

  • Teachers understand the structure and content of interventions and make explicit links to classroom learning.

  • Interventions are evaluated in terms of:
    - Staff CPD
    - Whole-setting provision
    - Curriculum design
    - Pupil progress

  • Next Steps May Include:
    - Providing refresher training for staff
    - Strengthening links with the wider curriculum
