Attendance

We regularly monitor the attendance of learners with SEND and take actions to improve it.

  • Leaders routinely analyse attendance data to identify patterns and potential barriers for pupils with SEND. Findings are recorded and shared at governing body meetings and with the local authority where appropriate.

  • Leaders recognise the increased vulnerability of pupils with SEND when not in school and implement personalised strategies, working closely with pupils and families to maximise attendance.

  • There is strong collaboration between pastoral and SEND support teams. Where needed, additional support and reasonable adjustments are put in place, such as individual healthcare plans and ensuring access to the provision outlined in pupils’ EHCPs.
