Curriculum leaders ensure the curriculum is sequenced so that all pupils can access subsequent learning, this is reviewed regularly to meet the needs and strengths of current cohorts.
Our senior and middle leaders collaborate with class teachers to support curriculum development, differentiation, and inclusive practice.
Our curriculum components are deliberately ordered to support progression and readiness for future learning across lessons, topics, year groups, and phases.
Our teachers are supported to identify and prioritise core knowledge that all pupils must know and remember, removing barriers for pupils with SEND.
Our teachers know how to break down complex concepts into small, manageable building blocks to ensure accessibility and success for all learners. Prerequisite learning is revisited and reinforced to support long-term retention and understanding.
Our teachers plan with awareness of curriculum areas that are particularly challenging, ensuring adaptations are in place for pupils with SEND.
We ensure key vocabulary is explicitly taught and explored to prevent it becoming a barrier to understanding, e.g. when analysing historical sources.
