Interactive whiteboards

Adjustments to support access to interactive whiteboards

  • Seat the pupil at the front, centrally (if appropriate) to maximize visibility of board and classroom displays.

  • Use high-contrast slides with large, clear fonts (e.g., Arial) to improve readability and reduce visual strain.

  • Provide alternative access to board content:

    • Share slides via email or Teams. This enables independent review and screen-based access.

    • Provide printed copies of slides to support close-up reading and annotation.

  • Ensure adults do not block the board during instruction and maintain uninterrupted visual access to key information
