Friendships & social situations

Supporting learners to identify their own wellbeing priorities.

  • Support children in identifying their own wellbeing priorities using tools like the wellbeing wheel. Revisit and reflect on progress regularly to promote self-awareness and resilience.

  • Establish friendship clubs that celebrate diversity and promote a sense of belonging. Strong friendships are essential for self-esteem and confidence.

  • Where British Sign Language (BSL) is a child’s first language, provide BSL learning opportunities for peers, teachers, and wider school staff.

  • Celebrate BSL as a valuable language and cultural asset within the school community.
